Interlocked vestibules, delayed egress, secure bathrooms, automatic operators all have a timing component that typically requires custom wiring, logic, and both a timer and relay to make the scenario function. Every extra layer in that installation introduces more opportunities for human error, points of failure, and increases the possibility of needing a technician to troubleshoot a malfunctioning system. Timer modules handle multiple parts of that process within a single board.
A timer board or timer module is a relay with a time-controlled output to automate the timing of connected devices including electric strikes, door locks and other peripheral security devices.
